Read below to learn more about some of the helpful gadgets in our dental office that we may use at your next appointment!

Intraoral Camera

Our intraoral camera is a pen-shaped device with a camera on the end of it that allows us to capture a close-up, detailed view of hard-to-see areas of your mouth. It can capture still images and video footages that we can display on a large chairside monitor to better explain any of our findings as well. Not only does this device help us diagnose small issues before they have a chance to wreak havoc on your smile, but they also aid us in patient education by providing you with a visual of what we’re talking about.

Digital X-Rays

Unlike their film counterparts, digital X-rays are higher quality, faster to capture, and don’t require the use of chemicals that are harmful for the environment. They also reduce radiation exposure to patients by up to 80 percent, making them a completely safe diagnostic tool for both children and adults alike. We can use X-ray images to diagnose problems that are lingering beneath the surface of the gumline, like infections, impacted teeth, and decay.

CBCT Scanner

The cone beam CT scanner is a compact, yet technologically advanced imaging device that helps us plan more complex treatments, like dental implant placement. In just 30 seconds, a scanning device will rotate around the head and capture a complete 3D image of your facial structure, including your jawbone, facial nerves, and sinuses. This will allow us to see the ideal placement for the implant posts for improved treatment success.

Digital Impression System

Our digital impression system eliminates the need for our team to use gag-inducing putty to properly fit crowns, mouthguards, prosthetics, and more. By waving a wand around your mouth, it’s able to create a detailed, 3D digital blueprint of your teeth and mouth that we can send off to our dental laboratory to craft your precisely fitted oral appliance or restoration.

Soft Tissue Laser Dentistry

The soft tissue laser is a small device that emits a concentrated beam of light from the tip of it. We typically use it to remove excess soft tissue to help crowns and restorations fit better, kill harmful oral bacteria, and for periodontal therapy. It’s able to immediately cauterize the area as soon as it comes into contact with it, minimizing any bleeding during procedures and reducing the risk of infection caused by lingering bacteria.
